Our family story

Started for my children. Built to help others.

I’m Dean. Dorset Family Flyers began because my own children wanted the chance to earn money, learn responsibility and understand how a real business works.

At 14–15, suitable first-job opportunities can be difficult to find. I wanted to create something with children at its heart—not as cheap labour, but as valued young people receiving proper pay, encouragement and useful experience.

The result is a family-run leaflet business that pays £8 an hour, arranges the required permits, involves parents and uses carefully planned local routes. What began as an opportunity for my children is intended to help other local young people in the same position take their first step into work.

Every business that advertises or books distribution helps make those opportunities possible.

Delivery assurance

How we prove delivery.

Every campaign is planned around a checked route and followed by clear delivery evidence, so advertisers know what was delivered and when.

Before delivery

The final household route and walking order are physically checked before the campaign begins.

After delivery

Advertisers receive the confirmed delivery period and completed Strava route evidence with personal information removed.

Honest follow-up

Any inaccessible streets or unused leaflets are recorded. Results and testimonials are published only when genuine and shared with permission.

Where are flyers delivered?

We serve suitable neighbourhoods across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. Every Shared Flyer area and final household route is confirmed before advertisers commit.

Can two competing businesses appear together?

No. Shared flyer advertising is offered on a one-business-per-category basis, subject to availability.

What is included in the advert price?

Your space in the shared flyer, preparation of the layout from the material you supply, printing and delivery to 5,000 local homes.

Are young distributors employed legally?

Yes. School-age workers require the relevant local-authority child-employment permit. We also use parent involvement, safe-working guidance, suitable routes, permitted hours and proper pay records.

Can I book distribution for my own leaflet?

Yes. You can join a Scheduled Shared Route, where your leaflet is delivered alongside a few non-competing businesses, or request Dedicated Distribution for greater control over the campaign timing and area.

What happens if the edition does not reach eight advertisers?

We will extend bookings by seven days and contact every booked advertiser. You may remain in the rescheduled edition or receive a full refund.

When are artwork and approval due?

Campaign-specific artwork and approval dates are confirmed in writing. We normally provide first artwork within two working days of receiving suitable materials, with unlimited reasonable amendments before final approval.
